Spaces that inspire solitude, contemplation and creative work Posted: 12 Jan 2011 08:08 AM PST Whether it is for quiet contemplation, intense concentration or that next big creation, sometimes we need to sit in an area which inspires us to bigger and better things, or simply, just to switch off and unwind. Sit back, relax and be inspired. Organic structural textures become a neutral contrast to a collection of books. Organised office spaces, free of clutter with neutral tones to calm the mind. Same room, different colours creating different ambience. Sitting by a fire curled up on an oversized chair, glass of wine and a favourite magazine to read-does it get any better? For the young or young at heart, all artists need an inspiring place in which to hone their skills. It’s never too early to encourage creativity. For when you have moved on from crayons and the art becomes the focus of the room. Creating warmth with colour and texture. Never underestimate a small corner, a free wall or space beneath a window.
