World’s Longest House – 150 meter (492 ft)

Posted: 21 Nov 2012 10:08 AM PST

On top of a hill in Thailand sits the world’s longest house, by architects Shinichi Ogawa & Associates, spanning a project area of 1592,41 sqm the 150 meter long home looks like it goes on forever!

The far reaching lengths of this glass walled dwelling soaks up every inch of beauty from the lush natural views at the foot of the hillside, rich with green forest, and the seemingly endless dimensions of the 40m outdoor swimming pool creates the opportunity to swim away from daily life surrounded by nothing but clouds.

The modern bedroom offers an unusual solution for bookshelves in the form of an entire wall of sectioned glass, which also compliments the glass of the exterior walls.

The lengthy proportions continue throughout the buildings interior, within the design of the furnishings, such as the hugely oversized sofas that would seat several families at once, and the stretched out letterbox fireplace in the lounge.

Welcome to the new Home Designing!

We applied a fresh coat of paint and changed quite a few things around.

Meet The New Logo: Modern, minimal, multifaceted. A cube cut in the famous golden ratio, displayed in the architectural isometric view, and sporting the initials (h & d) of Home Designing.

Meet The New Layout: Our focus has been to create a consistent yet customized experience across devices. Be it a mobile, tablet or desktop, you will find the new website adjusting itself to the device you use.

Things may not be perfect initially, especially as we settle in on the new design. We are eager for your feedback and encourage you to drop us a message if you find anything broken. We will work hard to fix it!

Cheers,
Team Home Designing
