Designed by Z-Axis Design in 2013, this blue and purple interior sets a vibrant scene for the home of a newlywed couple, in Taichung. Taiwan. The 74 square meter townhouse offers up an uncomplicated yet interesting scheme that forms a great base for modern day living.
Fresh white was used as the predominant base color to keep the apartment feeling spacious and airy, and the highly reflective floor helps to lift the whole scheme.
The wall behind the sofa has been given a vivid green frame to mark out a visual divide between the living room and the kitchen. Overlapping coffee tables connect the sofa to a small reading area, and a wooden hearth forms a low slung storage cubby beneath the wall mounted flatscreen television. Scatter cushions on the neutral sofa incorporate subtle shades of the large statement wall and the floor-skimming curtains to tie each hue together.
Large interior glass doors, with a striking glossy black frame, seal off the kitchen and breakfast bar area from the lounge, which will prove handy for keeping in the steam, and dull the clatter of pans, when cooking takes place.
A centrally hung, smoked gray mirror reflects the room, making the dimensions feel larger.
Simple white, handle-free kitchen units make the modest cooking zone appear uncluttered. Two low hanging pendant lights mark out the casual dining bench, casting a spotlight of illumination over each of the two place settings.
In the master bedroom a smooth cookie dough wall color evokes a soothing atmosphere, perfect for relaxation and sleep. A bespoke dual desk design that flows straight into a long window seat spans one of the walls, which also acts as a comfortable reading nook beneath a built in bookcase. The en suite bathroom is hidden behind a sliding mirrored door, keeping the perimeter of the room clean and bright.
