If you like your home design on the strong yet subtle side then this collection, featuring the work of architectural studio archiplastica, should be right up your street. Exploring four of their apartments, we admire a sophistication that is derived from style that has been stripped down to function without the fuss.
The first stop is the still in progress Lipki apartment, a flat in the old district of Kiev, Ukraine. Inside this dwelling we find a very minimalistic look with stark white walls and low level contemporary sofa. The only color in the entire lounge space come from a little detail in the propped up poster art.
Gray furniture sits cooly against pale beech wood tones and an ice white kitchen counter.
The feature wall has an exposed concrete industrial look.
Lighting options are kept utilitarian and modest in scale.
The kitchen area appears almost as an afterthought, and looks to fade away in response to the more interesting view beyond the windows.
In the bedroom the masculine atmosphere continues with a simplistic monochrome scheme.
The bathroom sets a sweeter tone, with the installation of an elegant shallow basin on fully fitted vanity unit, and softly frosted glazed divides.
Our second destination is another in progress apartment in Kiev, situated on Zverinetskaya Street, where we find a few more flourishes sneaking in. A space-age style pendant decorates the air above a similarly shaped dining table, which is complimented by the shape of the occasional tables in the adjacent lounge area.
A pink accent cushion punctuates the scheme.
A fully fitted look ensues in the bedroom, with a platform bedstead that extends into bedside cabinets and a dresser shelf.
A quirky shaped accent chair loosens up the scheme.
The aqua lighting in the shower room creates an under water atmosphere.
Our last stop finds us in a completed apartment, described as a paternal dwelling for those who are young at heart.
A black and white color scheme creates striking contrast.
